1. Fibre is a long, thin, and flexible thread of natural or artificial materials.
2. It has many uses. They can be twisted together as threads, string or rope.
3. They can be woven into fabric or composite materials.
4. There are two types of fibres, such as natural and artificial fibres.
5. Fibres which are extracted from natural sources like plants and animals are called natural fibres.
6. The common examples of natural fibres are Cotton, Silk, Wool, Jute and Hemp.
7. Fibres which are manufactured by chemical process and are not directly obtained from any natural sources are called artificial fibres.
8. The common examples of artificial fibres are Rayon, Nylon, Acrylic, and Polyester.
9. It is also called as man-made fibre or synthetic fibre.
10. Synthetic fibers are often produced much cheaper and larger than natural fibers, but natural fibers offer more advantages, such as comfort, replaced, recycled and reused.
